DATABASES
What are Databases?
Databases are used to organize and catalog information on various subjects so users like you can easily find the information you need. A database is like an online library. You are able to find magazine, journal, encyclopedia and newspaper articles in electronic format. It's easy to email and print these articles.
Why Should I Use a Database?
Databases contain content that has been evaluated by professionals. The content in reliable and trustworthy. Also, it's much easier and faster to navigate a database than it is to use a reference book.
Which Databases are Available to the PHS Community?
We have access to a number of databases through EBSCO.
Currently, you can use the databases that are available through the NJ State Library (also known as Jersey Clicks) as well as the Burlington County Library. See the information below.
How do I access the databases? Can I do it from home?
The state library databases are available at JerseyClicks. The county library databases are available at BCLS. You will be asked to enter your library card number and PIN to access the databases.
If you do not have a county library card, you may use the school's database card and pin. You can get this from your teacher or Mrs. Martino in the library. Mrs. Martino's email address is kmartino@palmyra.k12.nj.us .
