Today was the long-anticipated Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Charles Street School for their shiny new playground. The Bond Referendum passed earlier this year included the financing for this amazing new structure along with a surrounding fence & soft, durable ground covering. The old system was removed, the ground was excavated while protecting the trees that have been planted over the past few years & the new structure was erected over the past few weeks.

The ribbons were cut twice today: once for the K-2 kids & then again for the 3rd-6th graders. The structure is rated for ages 5-12 with kindness & safety being emphasized by Principal, Octavia Lee as she invited the Golden Ticket Winners to have a chance to experience the playground while the other students cheered them on from outside the fence. (Note: Recess today was a BLAST with everyone excited to explore the new play world!)

We are #PalmyraProud of our Ribbon Cutters, our Golden Ticket Winners & our beautiful new CSS Playground. Mrs. Lee was sure to thank our Board of Education-represented by Ms. Allen-Yoakum, our Business Administrator, Mr. Toscano & our interim Superintendent, Mr. Pease along with the voters of Palmyra for seeing the need to improve our former aging playground system.

The CSS Playground is for the students of Charles Street School to use during their school day & at their after-school program, it is open to the public during the remaining daylight hours & on weekends.
