Congratulations Ashanti Taylor! .
Ashanti is doubly proud of getting straight A’s & being inducted into German NHS. She is known to many young panthers through her job with the Palmyra After-School Program, & she has also worked at ShopRite & Dunkin Donuts. She is a role model who is kind, friendly & shares her time to help coach kids to play better. Ashanti is determined & recognized that this past year she could truly see her overall full potential.
Ashanti is the proud #1 of the Palmyra Girls Basketball 2019/2020 BCSL Freedom Division Champion Team & state semi-finalists! She was named to 3rd Team All New Jersey Group1 All-Star Team. Ashanti found the love for basketball at the age of 7, taught by her grandfather & uncles. Watching her play is a privilege because her passion & love for the sport is evident. She played for Beverly City School (as well as a travel team) & led that team to their 1st Championship win. Fellow teammates have shared that she has great leadership, she’s hard-working, fun, & super passionate about basketball. Basketball is not her only sport, she is also part of the PHS Spring Track team.
Academically, she has earned several awards throughout high school, as well as winning the Burlington County Science Fair in elementary school. With all her remaining free time, Ashanti is a member of the German Club & Yearbook Club. Those who know her, will attest that she is a selfless young lady, she has a true empathy for those less fortunate & will help ANYONE if she can.
This fall, Ashanti will attend Pennsylvania State University where she plans to hit the boards playing ball with the Lady Lions!
