Our HOSA Club (that’s: HEALTH Occupations Students of America) is a part of our Dual-Enrollment & Career Technical programs. Club Advisor, Kelly Jones took a group of students from our HOSA club, along with Mr. Devlin, on a field trip to Virtua Health Systems in Voorhees to attend their Health Science Symposium.

Along with other schools, representatives from 20 departments of Virtua Health made themselves available as a part of the day. During the event, they had the chance to explore an ambulance, learn CPR, and meet administrators, doctors, and other leaders from the Virtua Health System.  Greg Pease, Vice President of Operations and Security at Virtua Hospitals and brother of Superintendent Pease, participated as a panelist.

The well-planned event closed with student panels from each school discussing their goals and experiences as high school students.  This symposium was an excellent lens for our students to explore careers in health sciences, see scientific innovations at work and all participants were given the option of signing up to be a future volunteer with Virtua.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share this close-up look to the future’s possibilities and we are #PalmyraProud of our continued partnership with Virtua Health.
