Good Morning!  I hope everyone had a nice weekend & that all our moms had a wonderful Mother’s Day!  This is our last full regular season week before we start playoffs for most of our teams next week.  Here is a look at how we did last week:

Scholar Athlete: Congrats to senior Cadence Anderson on being recognized as the Scholar Athlete from the BCSL Freedom Division!  She was recognized at the South Jersey Coaches Association Banquet for her amazing academic and athletic career at PHS. 

Scholar Athlete, Cadence anderson standing in front of giant banner for south jersey coaches association holding a plaqueThe Baseball Team is on the heater after a 3 and 0 week, destroying their competition 52-7 on the week.  The boys started the week with an 18-0 thrashing of Burlington City.  Joe Elmes had 3 hits while Tom Staszak, Brayden Minnix, Ian Smith and Brandon Howell each had 2 hits.  Tom Staszak also had 4 RBI’s.  Joe Elmes struck out 14 Blue Devils to earn the complete game win. 
The boys followed that game up with a 24-1 demolition of Moorestown Friends.  Steve Peltz had 4 hits and 2 RBI’s in the win while Joe Elmes added 3 RBI’s for the Panthers.  Noah Vaughn was the winning picture, striking out 4 Foxes. 
The boys finished their perfect week with a 10-6 win over New Egypt on Friday.  Joe Elmes, Steve Peltz, Tom Staszak, Brayden Minnix and Ian Smith all had 2 hits each.  Brayden Minnix knocked in 3 runs while Ian Smith and Anthony Morgenstern each knocked in 2.  The Panthers are now 8-7 on the season and will travel to BCIT Medford for their next game today.

The Softball Team went 1-1 on the week.  The girls opened their week with a 12-0 loss to Maple Shade.  Sidney Lim had 2 hits for the Panthers. 
The girls then crushed Camden Academy Charter on Thursday, 16-1.  Sidney Lim had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.  Jisselle Martinez knocked in 4 runs while Jasmine Martinez, Elsie Kenson and Evie Aird each had 2 RBI’s.  Jasmine Martinez struck out 7 to pick up the win for the Lady Panthers.  The girls are now 8-7 and will return to action today at home against BCIT Westampton at Legion Field.

The Boys Tennis Team lost their lone match of the week 5-0 to Collingswood.  The Panthers are 4-4 on the season and will host Delran at Legion Field today at 345.

The Boys & Girls Track & Field Teams destroyed Trenton Catholic on Tuesday.  Both teams moved to 3-0 on the season and will battle Holy Cross next Monday for the Division Championship.
The track and field teams traveled to Northern Burlington on Saturday for the Burlington County Open.

  • Abdul Iyiola smoked his competition in the 400 hurdles finishing in 1st place in the County. 

  • Abdul also placed 5th in the 110 hurdles. 

  • Colin Broadbelt came in 5th place in the 800. 

  • Maddie Grimes finished in 5th place in the long jump on the girls side.  

  • Abdul’s time was the fastest 400 hurdles in Burlington county and 2nd fastest in the State.  Here is an article on the historic times for Abdul.

===================M I D D L E   S C H O O L======================= 

The Middle School Girls & Boys Track Teams traveled to Voorhees Middle School on Tuesday.  Burak Sayin finished in 1st place in the 200 and the girls 4x100 Team of Khloe Hunter, Hailey Monroe, Alivia Brown and Az-Zahra Pollard finished in 1st place.  The middle school track and field teams will run at Delran today
