Good Morning, hope everyone had a great weekend and welcome to February! Our winter sports will be winding down over the next few weeks as we approach tournament time! Here is a look at how our student athletes performed last week:
The Girls Basketball Team continued their torrid start to the season by going 2-0. The girls crushed rivals Riverside on Wednesday, 46-30. Jillian Hines had 10 points and 17 rebounds to post another double-double. Ava Sims had 8 points and 17 rebounds. The girls finished the week with a 45-39 win over Burlington City. Anna Paszkiewicz and Jada Coefield-Elie both led the offense with 13 points. Ava Sims added 10 points for the Lady Panthers. The girls are now 13-1 on the season and will travel to Bordentown for a 1st place showdown with the Scotties tonight at 4PM.
The Wrestling Team’s Samantha Domask came in 2nd at the Creek Classic yesterday. Congrats to Sammy! The team will host Bordentown tomorrow night at 6PM and Ewing on Thursday at 6PM in the PHS Gym.
The Boys Basketball Team had a busy week going 2-2. The boys started the week with a 65-46 win over Moorestown Friends. John Latimore led the offense with 13 points while Jaleel Latimore added 11 and Da’Shon Edmonds chipped in 10.
The boys then crushed Riverside on Wednesday, 64-29. Da’Shon Edmonds led the attack with 26 points and John Latimore added 10. The boys lost a close one on Friday to Burlington City, 44-42. Da’Shon Edmonds scored 20 to give the Panthers a chance to win it at the end.
The boys then played in the Holy Cross Showcase on Saturday against Moorestown High School and played competitive with the Group 3 Power. Jesahi Robinson scored 16 for the Panthers. The boys will return to action today at home against Florence High School with the Varsity playing at 5:15 in the PHS Gym. The boys are now 10-9 on the season.
The Winter Track & Field Team had the week off from events but will return to action today for a meet at Ocean Breeze.
