Selected as the Palmyra Middle School Delegate to the annual New Jersey School Board (NJSBA) 8th Grade Dialogue, Meghan Austin truly made us proud!
The NJSBA's 8th Grade Dialogues are a platform for students to share their experiences, insights, and ideas with school board members and other community stakeholders. The Burlington County event was held at Cinnaminson High School.
When asked if she were principal, Meghan replied that she would get "even more kids interested in extracurriculars and sports because it is so important to get involved." Her comfort and confidence is boosted by the knowledge of our homegrown faculty that are Palmyra Alumni from our small town. Meghan describes herself as someone who likes to talk and has offered herself as someone for others to reach out and have an advocate.
In attendance with her at the event were Principal, Mr. Dan Licata and Interim Superintendent, Mr. Mark Pease. Her final comment was that it is "good for principals to be aware that getting to know the students by just reaching out to talk is so important." This is something that our new Middle & High School Principal takes to heart and makes the effort on a daily basis to hear the student voice. Keep up the good work Meghan! We can't wait to see where your voice takes you next!
