2025 sPRING sPORTS REPORT featuring softball player doing a split to catch a ball

-and NOW from our SPORTS DESK - Athletic Director Mike Papenberg reports Good Day Everyone!  We hope you all had a great weekend!  Here is a look at how our spring student-athletes performed last week:

The Boys Tennis Team went 1-1 on the week.  The boys lost a close match to Cinnaminson on Monday, 3-2.  Jaden Jennings won at 3rd singles(6-4, 6-2) and Jack Timlin/Nolan Falicki won at 1st Doubles(1-6, 7-5, 10-7).  The boys closed out the week with a 5-0 win over Nottingham High School.  Owen Jacobs, Connor McCann and Jaden Jennings all won their singles matches.  Justin Smyth/Jack Timlin won their 1st doubles match and Nolan Falicki/Justin Lopez won their 2nd doubles match.  The Panthers are 2-2 on the season and are scheduled to travel to Pemberton today for their next match.

The Softball Team went 1-0 on the week, destroying Pennsauken Tech 19-4.  Jisselle Martinez, Jasmine Martinez, Olivia Lynch and Sidney Lim all had 3 hits to lead the offense.  Jasmine hit a home run and had 5 runs batted in.  Jisselle had 4 runs batted in while Olivia Lynch and Sidney Lim each had 2 runs batted in.  Jasmine Martinez struck out 5 to earn the victory.  The girls are now 1-2 on the season and are scheduled to host Pemberton tomorrow.

The Baseball Team had an 0-2 week.  The boys opened the week with a hard fought 3-2 loss against Riverside.  Dean Maute and Anthony Morgenstern picked up hits for the Panthers.  Morgenstern and Ian Smith had the RBI’s.  Steve Peltz struck out 7 while Anthony Morgenstern struck out 3 Rams.  The boys lost to BCIT Westampton on Wednesday 12-4.  Noah Vaughn and Steve Peltz each had 2 hits.  Nate Bachich, Alex Ridgway and Anthony Morgenstern each had a hit.  Steve Peltz had an RBI.  The Panthers will return to action tomorrow against Moorestown Friends at Charles Street.

On Saturday the Boys & Girls Track & Field Teams competed against 25 teams throughout the state at the Don Dancer relays. The following athletes had top 10 finishes:

  • Elizabeth McCarron in the 1600 and ran a personal best

  • Keronja Watson-100 hurdles

  • Hailey Monroe-JV hurdles

  • The girls-4X100

  • The girls-4X200

  • Madison Grimes-high jump

  • Ava Sims-triple jump

  • Zaria Welch-Discus

  • Deanna Bailey-JV Javelin

  • Pat Broadbelt -1600 and ran a personal best

  • Mike Kozlowski- Pole Vault

  • Omar Kane -JV Javelin and threw a personal best

Athletes who placed in the top 3 and came home with medals were:

  • Hailey Monroe 1st in JV 100 meter hurdles

  • Samantha Domask 2nd in Varsity Discus

  • Deanna Bailey 2nd in JV Shot Put

  • Josh Carter 2nd in High jump

  • Sam Adams 3rd in Discus

==================MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS======================

The Middle School Boys Track & Field Team opened up its season at Medford Middle School on Monday.  Here are their top performers for the meet:

  • Hadassah DaSilva set a new personal best in the 400m by almost 6 seconds, running 71 seconds.

  • Rafael Gonzalez set a new personal best in the 100m with a time of 13.66

  • Khloe Hunter was 2nd place in the 100m with a fast time of 13.96

  • Michael Airall with an impressive debut on the track in the 100m (13.14), 200m (27.1), and a strong opening leg in the 4X100m relay

  • 6th graders Abigail Flynn and Aurora Previch ran strong debut 800m races (3:17 & 3:23)
