...Respect for ourselves improves respect for others! In keeping with the District's overall Week of Respect theme, it is important to note that we need to respect ourselves in order to respect others. Slowing down (as we have for the past year), Listening, turning off tech, being present for ourselves and our children are all ways of paying respect to ourselves and charging us up to pay it forward.
Mindfulness author, psychotherapist and workshop facilitator, Anja Tanhane suggests this exercise: Choose something which has been niggling at you for a while, and make a time to give this issue some respectful attention. Come back to it several times this week, and allow yourself to be curious about what emerges. For more from their website: MindfulnessMeditation.net.au
As part of our District goals, we will continue to share mindful reminders from our SEL Toolbox. #BeingMindful #PalmyraStrong #MindfulMondaylove #MindfulHabits #talkwithyourkids #respectstartswithself #weekofrespect2021
