We are #PalmyraProud of this new addition to our team!
Approved at the Special Meeting of the Board of Education on May 25, 2022,
Dr. Norton is coming to us from the Millstone Township School District where she currently serves as the Middle School Assistant Principal.
Additionally, she has served as a Supervisor of the World Language, Math and Social Studies departments in her district. She has extensive curriculum writing and implementation experience; was a national evaluator for Character.org; served on her school’s Climate and Culture Committee which earned a State School of Character Award; has demonstrated experience with data analysis and intervention; and has 12 years classroom teaching experience. Dr. Norton has a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Concordia University and a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Scranton University
Dr. McBride would like to extend his sincerest gratitude to those members of our school teams who shared their time and experience to serve on the various interview committees responsible for putting forward the final candidate for selection as our new Director of Curriculum and Instruction. These individuals, under the leadership of our outgoing Supervisor of Curriculum, Ms. Stacy Saia, took up the challenge in a very short window of time and proceeded to work through 41 application packages and several rounds of interviews before making a very short list of finalists to be considered.
We look forward to welcoming Dr. Norton to our Palmyra School District family with an anticipated start date of August 1st. Dr. Norton is scheduling time with Dr. McBride to visit our schools and classrooms before our last day of school.
