Letter from the Superintendent of Palmyra School District, Dr. Florencia S. Norton, dated March 20, 2026.

20 March 2026

Dear Palmyra Families, Staff, and Community,
Today is the first day of spring, and it brings a sense of renewal that I think we all need right now.

This time of year always makes me reflect. The days are longer, the light feels different, and there is a shift in energy. I see it at home with my own kids, and I see it even more clearly in our schools. There is a spark that returns. Students are more engaged, classrooms feel alive, and there is a growing sense of momentum.

Over the past few weeks, I have had the opportunity to spend time in our buildings, and what stands out most is the joy. Students have been fully immersed in reading, welcoming guest authors, celebrating their accomplishments, and supporting one another. These are the moments that remind us why we do this work.

As we move forward, we are entering one of the most important parts of the school year. There is so much ahead. Students will take part in meaningful learning experiences, performances, and trips that mark important milestones in their journey. In the weeks to come, we will celebrate growth and achievement through events like Fitness Day, awards ceremonies, and graduation.

Spring is a powerful reminder that growth takes time, effort, and consistency. Our students are growing every day, academically and personally. Our staff continues to show up with dedication and care. Our families remain strong partners in this work. Together, we are building something meaningful for our children.

There is still important work ahead of us this year. This is the time to stay focused, to support one another, and to finish strong. Every day matters. Every effort counts. Every student deserves our very best.

Thank you for being part of this community and for the role you play in making Palmyra such a special place. I am proud of what we have accomplished together, and I am even more excited for what is still to come.

Wishing you all a hopeful and inspiring spring season.

With gratitude,
